Pastitsio with smoked tuna TRATA and spinach
    Ingredients
  • 2 cans of TRATA smoked tuna
  • 500 gr of small pasta
  • 200 gr of spinach
  • For the bechamel sauce:
  • 150 gr of butter
  • 150 gr of all-purpose flour
  • 1 liter of whole milk
  • 5 gr of nutmeg
  • 300 gr of grated Kasseri cheese
  • 100 gr of toast crumbs
  • Salt and pepper
PREPARATION
Preparation Time:30 minutes

Drain the tuna and keep one spoonful of its oil. Wash the spinach and let it dry. Boil the pasta in plenty of salted water. Drain, add the spinach , tuna, and the oil from the tuna, and mix together. At the same time, prepare the béchamel sauce. Melt the butter in a saucepan at medium heat. When it has melted, add the flour and mix with a spatula. It should develop a light brown color. Start adding the milk gradually, mixing continuously. A firm cream should develop. When the cream has absorbed most of the milk, add a little more until it has all been added. Then, turn off the stove, add the nutmeg and the grated cheese, and mix. Mix the pasta and the cream together and move to the baking dish. Sprinkle with the toast crumbs and bake at 180 °C for about 10 minutes, until golden brown.
